The Golden Hour – Bharatpur

When you travel places, rather than being stagnant in one city, you learn more about yourself and the city that you ever could in any school. While its easy to feel anonymous on vacation in an unfamiliar place, Bharatpur – with all its contradictions is a remarkably free and non-judgemental despite falling under tier –III category.

Bharatpur is an ideal weekend getaway from Delhi NCR. I, Ankit & 2 of our friends drove down from Gurgaon  and it took us approx. 3-4hrs. to reach Keoladeo National Park (Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary). October to February is the best time to visit Bharatpur for migratory birds. The drive was amazing as its a straight stretch via NH-2 (AH-1).

The plan was to reach during magic hour, to catch all the action and beat the highway traffic! Though, none of us are bird watchers, I must say, I was really inspired by the movie “The Big Year” where Bostick spots 755 species of birds unlike us who could spot only 50 of them! 😉 😛

There was such serenity in watching these birds in a place which is almost a paradise and unless you actually go there you won’t understand it’s charm. After going through endless beautiful photographs, found some of them blogworthy 🙂 Hope you enjoy them 🙂 Till then keep smiling, ciao 😎
